Raise no more devils than you canlay.

A cicada was singing one evening in the branches of a tall tree when a fox happened to pass by.

A:What beautiful singing. With a voice like that you must be a very handsome creature.Come down where I can admire your form as well as your voice.

(The Cicada had seen Foxes before, instead of hopping down himself. He broke off a small leaf and sent it fluttering to the ground. The Fox pounced on it greedily.

B:You've given yourself away,Fox. I've never trusted you since I saw a pile of Cicada wings outside your burrow one day .Now I know I was right about you. You can admire my voice if you like, but I'm not coming any closer.
